Become the leader your vision requires.

You built the thing on competence and heart. The next chapter isn’t asking for a better strategy, it’s asking for more of you. Who you’re being shapes your company, your culture, and your life — to their benefit and detriment. That’s where we work.

You know this feeling.

“I’m carrying a vision that feels enormous — and a daily grind that doesn’t always match it.”
“Everyone treats me like I have it figured out. Where do I get to admit I don’t?”
“I know how to build the thing. I’m less sure about the person building it.”
“I already won. So why is there still this nagging?”

Different seats, same threshold. Raising a round, exiting the company, scaling past yourself, or standing on the far side of a win and wondering what’s next — the identity that built the thing isn’t what the next chapter requires.

And there’s usually nobody in your life who can hear you say that out loud.

This is that room.

Your team feels who you’re being before they hear what you say.

A decade of coaching leaders has taught me this: culture isn’t the values on the wall. It’s the felt experience of you — in the meeting, under pressure, on the worst day of the quarter. Every company is, in some real way, a portrait of its leader’s being.

Which explains something you’ve probably noticed. When the same problem keeps coming back — the hire that doesn’t stick, the plan that stalls in the same place, the constant anxiety, the trust that won’t take root — it’s rarely a strategy problem. Strategy problems get solved once. The recurring ones live somewhere deeper.

Here’s the good news: you can’t control the market, but who you’re being is yours. It’s a choice you get to make every morning — and it’s learnable, the way any craft is learnable.

That’s the work we do together. You’re not broken, and I’m not here to fix you. We work together for you to become — on purpose — the leader your vision actually requires.

Simple frame. Deep work.

Every engagement runs on the frame at the center of my book: Where are you? Where do you want to go? What’s between here and there?

Most leaders assume they’ve already answered the first two. Almost nobody actually has. Getting honest about where you are — without the investor-update gloss — and clear about what you actually want is the hardest, bravest work a leader does. It means facing the fear of failing, and the quieter, stranger fear of succeeding. The identity fused to the doing. The things you want that you haven’t let yourself say out loud.

The usual advice skips all of that and jumps straight to the third question — tactics, playbooks, the how. That’s why it rarely sticks. Directions without clarity are useless. We do the clarity work first. Once you truly know where you are and what you want, the route has a way of revealing itself.

I’m not coaching this from theory. I started Golden Bristle in 2015 and have spent the decade since coaching founders and executives. In 2021, I took the seat myself as CEO of a small company — grew the team, beat our targets, made just about every mistake there is to make, and burned out hard enough to learn what the seat actually costs. That chapter changed how I coach. I know both sides of this table.

What you can count on from me: 100% love and 100% challenge. I’ll believe in you more than you believe in yourself, and I won’t let you play small.
